Dear A. HOME Community,

We were recently sued in New Jersey federal court. The lawsuit claims that our website is inaccessible to a visually impaired plaintiff and thus violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We were unaware that accessibility for websites even existed, let alone that you could be sued over it.

Had anyone contacted us, of course, we would have been happy to help provide any information or assistance to ensure access to our product, but we were not contacted - just sued - and now we must deal with the tremendous burden of a lawsuit.

As a result, we have decided to use our Instagram and Facebook social media channels to showcase our products rather than our website.

We support the internet being accessible to all and believe that the ADA is necessary and important. There exists however, a new “cottage industry” of law firms filing thousands of claims described as “cut-and-paste pleadings designed to extract quick settlements and not make websites more accessible.”
