Sunday Sleep & Soak
SuzAnn Kletzien is Queen! The Chicago-based designer is known for her bold and daring style that is thoroughly identifiable, yet never repetitive. For this week’s Labor Day-inspired, extra indulgent Soak, we were tempted to pick about 15 of SuzAnn’s spaces, but against all odds, we narrowed it down to just one gem.
“I wanted drama!” SuzAnn told House Beautiful when she was profiled about this Wicker Park stunner. The clients were a young rock and roll-inspired couple who were open to SuzAnn’s ideas, and she knew she could push limits and make an impact. The floor is a luxe twist on 1920’s porcelain penny-tile flooring. Kletzien worked with Artistic Tile to create this unique, hexagonal-tile marble “rug” made up of Nero Marquina, Thassos, and Pacific White. The drama continues with the crystal and gold, jewelry inspired chandelier above the claw-foot tub. The tub is adorned with gorgeous and glam gilded fixtures that match the mirrors and antiqued mirror tiles. Kletzien completes the look with classic crystal doorknobs, warehouse-style shower doors and high-contrast black paint on the upper third of the walls .
